Blue Angels Week 2026: More Drama, More Memories

Every July, Pensacola Beach turns into one big airshow party, and every year we say the same thing: it won’t top last year. This year proved us wrong. Blue Angels week didn’t just deliver the usual jaw-dropping formations; it made national news before the Blues even flew their first official show.

The pass everyone’s still talking about

Wednesday morning’s “Breakfast with the Blues” practice is normally a local tradition: coffee, pastries, and a front-row seat to watch the team warm up over the Gulf. This year, one of the jets came in for a pass so low over the beach that it sent tents, chairs, and hats tumbling across the sand. The crowd went wild (in a GREAT way). Within hours, the video was everywhere, the Navy opened a safety review, and by the next day it was the talk of every dinner table from here to Tallahassee.

Was it a little too close for comfort? Maybe. Was it one of the most unforgettable moments in Blue Angels history? Absolutely. If you were on the beach for it, you already know, and if you weren’t, you’ve probably seen the clip by now.

Meanwhile, our guests had the easiest week of anyone

While the rest of Pensacola Beach was dealing with the traffic and parking chaos that always comes with Blue Angels week, our guests this week barely noticed. They arrived towing a 31-foot boat, parked it right here at the house, and then trailered it down to Shoreline Park (a half-mile away) to launch. No circling for a spot, no fighting the crowds.

Once the boat was in the water, they brought the trailer back to the house and hopped on the golf cart they’d added on to their stay, cruising back down to Shoreline Park to watch both main show days from the water and the shoreline. No car, no parking stress, no dealing with the gridlock everyone else was posting about online. Just an easy, breezy week of front-row Blue Angels views.

That’s the difference staying at The Pelican House makes during airshow week. Shoreline Park’s boat launch, trails, and open shoreline views put you minutes from all the action, without any of the headaches that come with it.

Already thinking about next year

Blue Angels week books up fast, and after a year like this one, we expect next July to go even faster. If you want a home base with boat parking, a golf cart add-on, and an easy shot to Shoreline Park, this is the spot.
